Located on the crossroads of Historic 66 and Fourth, the ca.1901 landmark bank building of the Lake City Diner marks the entry to downtown Santa Rosa, New Mexico.
Still retaining historic and nostalgic features, like the Condie-Neale molded glass transoms, the vault door, pressed tin ceilings
and marble tile floors it has stood for more than a 100 years and predates the historic ca.1909
courthouse across the street. In its lifetime the building served as a bank, finance company,
clothing store, optometrist's office and today, a restaurant. Designed in 1996 by the current owner for the previous owner, he utilized the inherent features of the bank to give the perception of a kitchen built in a vault. New Mexico MainStreet in 1996 gave the LCD its Best Buildings Award. Closed in the winter of 2010 after 15 years of service, the Diner was purchased by Richard and Rhonda
Gutierrez who reopened it in June of 2011.
Offering a variety of menu choices that include steaks, chicken, fish, burgers, sandwiches and pasta, the Diner also utilizes Puerto
de Luna, Hatch and Socorro chile, seasonal produce and the top 12% of beef to prepare their adult and children's menus. Meatless versions of our menu upon request too!
So, after a long day on the road, dodge the eat-and-run, come in and sit awhile and enjoy our takes on culturally and regionally inspired New Mexico dishes and desserts.
